These days, it seems like there are new types of can carriers coming onto the market on daily basis. There are now can carriers made of plastic, cardboard, paper, molded pulp, and even ones that are edible for fish. The two most popular ones are Paktech and E6PR, so those are the ones we’ll focus on here. Both types have their pros and cons, and we’ll go over those to hopefully help you in deciding which is best for your packaging needs.

Paktech™

These can carriers are by far the most popular on the market, and come in just about every size and color out there. They are made of 100% recycled HDPE plastic, and are strong, flexible, durable, and very easy to apply.

The main potential issue some people have with Paktech’s is that even though they are 100% recyclable, they are made of plastic, so they are non biodegradable.

If you currently use Paktech’s, our Econo-Pod line is made to perfectly fit cans held together by these can carriers. Our Slim Can Pods fit 12oz sleek style cans held together by Paktechs as well.

E6PR™

E6PR™ (Eco Six Pack Ring) also comes in a number of different sizes. These can Carriers are becoming a very a popular style of holding tops for a number of reasons. These eco-friendly can carriers are made from by-product waste and other compostable materials. They are compostable and biodegradable.

The main potential issue with the E6PR can carriers is the ease of application. They are a bit more difficult to apply by hand than Paktechs, and an applicator is recommended.

If you are currently using E6PR can carriers, or plan to in the future, our Econo-Pods fit standard sized cans held together by these perfectly.

So when determining which can carriers are the best for your business, you’ll want to consider the pros and cons we discussed, then make your decision based on what’s best for your packaging needs. Other can carrier brands you may want to consider are Wave Grip, Fishbone,  and Berlin. Just always remember, no matter what brand or style can carriers you use, chances are we make Pods that perfectly fit cans held together by them!
